With no single performance in Week 4 standing out, lets dig deeper into the new, improved QBR?and see who has the largest difference between their raw QBR and the opponent-adjusted figure.Biggest rank changeDropping four spots from number 10 down to 14, Sam Bradford is the only qualified quarterback to fall as many as four places last week. His QBR numbers are fairly similar (65.2 adjusted and 67.9 raw), but he lands in a crowded spot on the leaderboard when we take the opposition into account -- behind Matthew Stafford (65.8 adjusted), Tyrod Taylor (65.6) and Jameis Winston (65.5). Bradfords had the fortune of playing against Green Bay (26th), Carolina (29th) and the Giants (17th), all of whom rank in the bottom half in the league in adjusted QBR allowed.Bradford does have some tough games ahead in his former team, Philadelphia, which currently leads the league in adjusted QBR allowed, and Houston, which has allowed the third-lowest adjusted QBR. But those contests are juxtaposed with four easy division games for the Vikings against division rivals Chicago (31st) and Detroit (32nd) -- two meetings vs. each.Biggest change in QBROf the quarterbacks to make at least three starts through four weeks, Philip Rivers has the largest difference between his adjusted and raw QBR values. He moves only one spot in the rankings (drops from 6 to 7), but his raw QBR of 74.2 adjusts all the way down to 68.4. Rivers did post a fairly impressive 72.9 raw QBR against New Orleans on Sunday, but the problem is that a 72.9 raw QBR against New Orleans is actually fairly unimpressive. Since the start of the 2015 season, it is only the 16th -best raw QBR New Orleans has allowed in a 20-game span. So even Rivers above-average-looking day gets heavily adjusted to 52.7 (near average) when factoring in the opponent. Rivers has also played against the Colts and Jags, both of whom are in the bottom third of the league in adjusted QBR defense.Biggest gain in QBRAlex Smith has faced a fairly rough set of defenses in his teams first four games, squaring off with three of the top 11 defenses (San Diego, Houston and Pittsburgh) in his first four games. His lone game outside a top 11 defense came against the Jets, who rank 30th. Things dont get much easier for Smith, as eight of his final 12 games come against teams currently in the top half of the league. It is also important to remember that the impact of opposing defenses over small stretches (such as four games), can certainly show large differences, but by the end of the season these differences tend to shrink. That is not to say they are not important, just that there is less tangible disparity in the quality of defenses in the NFL as more games are played. Reggie Sanders Jersey . Ryan Garbutt had a goal and two assists as Dallas snapped a six-game losing streak with a 5-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night. Eric Davis Jersey . There are some early surprises in the race for the Hart Trophy, but two of the contenders are the leagues biggest stars over the past decade. There are many more players in contention for the awards than just the three that Ive named, and a good or bad week can easily alter the landscape, but through the first 20 or so games of the NHL season, this is how the awards races look to me. Cody Reed Jersey . -- For the first time in two months, an opponent was standing up to Alabama. FRANKFURT, Germany -- Eleven rounds into the season, four-time defending champion Bayern Munich looks unusually vulnerable after losing the Bundesliga lead to newcomer Leipzig.Carlo Ancelottis team fell to its first defeat of the season by going down 1-0 at Borussia Dortmund on Saturday and dropped three points behind undefeated Leipzig, the promoted team that has won six straight.Bayern has won only two of its last six matches and the German powerhouse seems to have lost some of its mental sharpness and lethal finishing. Worse still for Bayern, opponents are no longer waving the white flag as they run onto the pitch. It is true, we are not quite so dominant, so superior, as in the past few years, defender Mats Hummels said.Seeking its fifth consecutive title -- after a record four straight -- Bayern began its first season under Ancelotti with a 6-0 thumping of Werder Bremen and seemed to have made a smooth transition from Pep Guardiolas style based on possession and tactical discipline.Everything looked fine in the first few matches. But then came draws with Eintracht Frankfurt, Cologne and Hoffenheim, and finally the loss in Dortmund, the first in the German league since March. Bayern is not leading the Bundesliga for the first time since September 2015.Of course you cant be satisfied if youre not the leader anymore and youve lost points, captain Philipp Lahm said, before adding sarcastically, but its nice for the league, thats what you all were waiting for, no?Hummels, who played eight years in Dortmund before moving to Bayern this season, said visiting Dortmund is the toughest awayy game in Europe, but did not want to overrate the loss.ddddddddddddIts not good, but its also not a catastrophe, not the end of the world, he said. You should not judge a game only by the result,Its true that Bayern controlled many stages of the match, but could not break down Dortmunds dogged defense, which earned Thomas Tuchels team its first home win over Bayern since April 2012.At the moment, we are missing a little that desire to make the goal, Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer said. We could have won today against a Dortmund side that wasnt very strong. We were missing that last pass, the precision, Lahm added. The players seem to enjoy the tactical freedom under Ancelotti, but they also seem to lack the purpose they had under Guardiola. The Spaniard constantly gave directions and gesticulated from the touchline, while the grim-faced Ancelotti rarely moved during the loss in Dortmund. The Italian is mild-mannered and has said that giving instructions during a match is all but useless since players rarely listen.Bayern also has been hit by injuries and the poor form of forward Thomas Mueller, who still has to score in the league this season. We are playing a little bit differently, we have other priorities and thats OK, Hummels said.Hummels thinks that Leipzig can be a serious contender and that Bayern will not be able to march through the season unchallenged as in recent years. At the end, I think the title will be decided between us and Dortmund, he said.
