England batsman Joe Root is set to feature in his first four-day game for Yorkshire in two years this weekend. Yet Root, the worlds second-ranked Test batsman, admits he is unsure if the back-to-back county champions have room to accommodate him.The 25-year-old is available for the White Rose against Nottinghamshire for the Sky Live match that begins at Trent Bridge - the venue for Roots most recent Yorkshire appearance in September 2014, when he captained them to the County Championship title - on Sunday. Yorkshire have been missing a player who is currently in the top-10 in all formats in the ICC world rankings, but his loss has not been felt too heavily at Headingley, where they were celebrating another County Championship under first-team coach Jason Gillespies watch last season.Their bid to get off to a quick start in pursuit of a third straight Division One championship will be strengthened by Roots availability for their next two fixtures, even if the Sheffield-born batsman knows they have done just fine without him.The opportunities to do it are so rare now; it is really nice to go back and play, said Root, who was speaking in Sheffield after being unveiled as the new ambassador for Yorkshire Cricket Foundation. Root starred for England in their ill-fated Twenty20 World Cup campaign earlier this month Looking at the side at the minute, Im trying to see where Ill fit into the team. Honestly, theres a lot of guys scoring runs and playing really good cricket. You almost think, is it worth upsetting that for a couple of games? Its great to be back involved, a lot of the guys Ive known since being a really young lad and Ive grown up learning the game with so its nice to be in the same dressing room with them again and playing competitive cricket again.Root will pad up in a competitive environment for the first time since England lost the World Twenty20 final to West Indies in India earlier this month. But Root is not dwelling on the heartache and is already focusing on his next challenge with England, which involves defeating Pakistan and Sri Lanka in home Test series this summer and avenging their recent losses to both nations. Joe Root talks Yorkshire and England during a day at Woburn Golf Club It was bitterly disappointing but its gone now and you move on; you get absorbed in what your next hurdle is, Root added.Going into that World Cup, Im not sure wed have been expected to get to the World Cup final, I think we out-did ourselves in that respect. The way we performed in the Test arena... South Africa was an outstanding effort from this group of players so its really exciting going into the summer with all this momentum behind us.If we can win both series, I think were holding every trophy between us and other nations which would be a good achievement.Watch Nottinghamshire v Yorkshire in County Championship Division One, starting from 10.30am on Sunday live on Sky Sports 2 HD. Muttiah Muralitharan has become the second former Sri Lanka cricketer to work with Australias players ahead of the upcoming Test series on the island. Captain Steven Smith confirmed Murali had begun to work with Australias spinners in their training sessions in Colombo, where the team arrived last weekend. Murali is expected to continue in this consulting role until the start of the first Test, in Pallekele. Some Australia players had also worked with former Sri Lanka batsman Thilan Samaraweera, who is presently coaching at the National Cricket Academy in Brisbane.Muralis got a lot of experience in Sri Lanka, Smith said. He took a truckload of wickets. Its great to have someone like that helping our spinners in this series - to give us that insight. Hes been really good around the group so far, and hes enjoying his time with us. Australia had previously hired Murali in a short-term consulting role ahead of their Test series against Pakistan, in the UAE, in 2014. Both offspinner Nathan Lyon and left-arm spinner Steve OKeefe, who are on the Sri Lanka tour, had worked with Murali on that occasion. He has had two training sessions with the Australia team in this stint so far.Murali has been fantastic around the guys, Australia coach Darren Lehmann said. Murali loves the game of cricket, so Im sure hed work well with other teams as well - hes a fantastic coach. Also equipping Australia with knowledge of Sri Lankan conditions is batting consultant Stuarrt Law, who worked as Sri Lankas assistant coach from 2009 to 2011 and also briefly as the interim head coach.dddddddddddd Law will be with the Australia side through the tour. The visitors first and only practice match against a Sri Lanka Board XI will begin on July 18 - seven days after the team arrived on the island. We made a choice to come a little bit earlier, Lehmann said. Steven likes the extra time. Thats the best thing for all the guys for this tour - its a tough tour, as we know. Stuart Law has spent some time here and has some expertise. To have him and Murali to talk about the way the wickets might play in Kandy, Colombo and Galle, and how Sri Lanka play and how we should play, has been great. There had been consternation within SLC earlier in the year, when Mahela Jayawardene worked with England ahead of the World T20, but Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews was less perturbed by Muralis appointment.Well hes a professional and hes into coaching now, Mathews said. I think helping Australia out with insight - hes got so much experience - it will be a great help for them to get some advice. The first of three Tests begins in Pallekele on July 26. The series is unusually beginning in Kandy in order to get the Pallekele Test out of the way before the Esala Perahera - a Buddhist festival - season begins in the city. ' ' '
