Pakistan need to improve in every department if they are to compete with England in the remaining Tests of the Investec series according to their captain, Misbah-ul-Haq. A loss in the second Test at Old Trafford leveled the series at 1-1 with two matches left to play, but it was the margin of defeat - an eye-watering 330 runs - that has concerned Pakistan. While Misbah felt England made full use of winning an important toss, he accepted that his bowlers had been unable to build any pressure and his batsmen folded in the face of Englands intimidating first innings total of 589 for 8 declared before again staring at a massive fourth innings target of 565. Most of all, though, Misbah credited Joe Roots outstanding performance - 325 runs in the match, within one shot of the victory margin - to negate the threat of Yasir Shah and set-up Englands match-defining first innings total. We were below average and need to improve in every department, Misbah said. We could not really build the pressure and we let them score a massive total in the first innings. It is difficult to come back in the game facing 600. The toss was vital on that pitch, but England played really well. Alastair Cook and Root almost took the game away from us. They set the tone. That was the difference from Lords. At Lords, Root was out cheaply in both innings and we got Cook out cheaply in the second innings. Then they struggled. Root and Cook are their main players. They really depend on them - the others are struggling - but the way Root played in this game… it was an amazing innings. But our batting was a big disappointment. It was a good pitch to bat on but we scored 198 and 234. You cant take that. On that pitch you can score 350 plus even if you are batting second or fourth. Some of the batsmen are getting in, but not converting their starts. We really need them to do that.Misbah also highlighted the presence of two or three allrounders in Englands side and the absence of any from his as a key difference. While England are able to include five bowlers without weakening their batting, Pakistan were required to place a heavy load on the shoulders of their four bowlers. They remain desperate for Mohammad Hafeez to resume bowling again soon, with Misbah suggesting it could have made a big difference on this surface.Hafeez is not bowling, Misbah said. But on a pitch like that, it could have made a difference. Especially with the opposition having four or five left-handers in their side. They have a lot of allrounders. That really gives them strength. We dont have the option of a fifth bowler. Thats the limitation we have. But this is how we have to live at the moment.Misbah also defended Yasir Shah after a chastening performance. Having gone into the Old Trafford Test as the recently installed No. 1 bowler in the ICC Test rankings, Yasir claimed match figures of 1 for 266 from 63 overs in Manchester, a far cry from his 10-wicket performance at Lords.Maybe there was a bit of tiredness after he bowled a lot of overs in the previous Test, Misbah said. But there was a big difference in this match compared to the previous one. He could not really bowl with that control and consistency. They played him well. And there wasnt much help for him from the surface on the first two days. They were two good players facing him and it is totally different when there are runs on the board. It creates pressure. But we know he is a strong character and before the next Test he will definitely analyse what went wrong.Rondae Hollis-Jefferson Jersey . Catch all the action on TSN2 at 11pm et/8pm pt. Prior to Werdums forgettable reign, Velasquez had an injury-ridden spell as champion that saw him defend only twice, both times against opponents who he had already defeated. There will be pressure on Miocic to return to the cage quickly, having escaped his title win apparently unscathed. Alistair Overeem awaits as the obvious challenger who seems more than capable of continuing the merry-go-round.Dont take it on the chin Is this safety-first approach advisable for new champion Miocic (left)? When 260lbs men strap on 4oz gloves, it is advisable to keep your hands up because, worryingly, there does not seem to be a heavyweight contender capable of withstanding his rivals punches.Miocic is relatively fresh at 33 yet four years ago he was knocked out by Stefan Struve.Werdum had been stopped once before Miocic flattened him, while the next challenger Overeem has suffered three knockouts in the last three years alone. Floyd confident of McGregor fight Floyd Mayweather Jr has added to speculation of a potential fight with Conor McGregor Everyones chin, it appears, can be exposed in this division, which suggests the secret to a successful reign might be a reluctance to rely upon trading strikes.Miocic demonstrated this ability by holding Mark Hunt to the ground for much of their 23-minute fight a year ago - so is that how he should continue? What to do with Cyborg? Cris CCyborg Justino continued her winning streak Cristiane Cyborg Justino made a frightening impact on her long-awaited UFC debut, finally stepping into the big leagues after years of threatening to launch an assault on the evolving womens scene.ddddddddddddA swift stoppage of Leslie Smith extended her run to 11 consecutive knockouts, suggesting she is a match for anyone wearing world championship gold, but questions remain about how to fit her into the puzzle.Having never made the weight limit of 135lbs for the biggest womens division, Cyborg was afforded a catchweight fight of 140lbs against Smith. She duly won against an oversized opponent who isnt even ranked in the top 15 of the 135lbs division.Having then failed to mention established contenders Ronda Rousey or Holly Holm in her post-fight speech, we are no clearer to discovering whether Cyborg merits her fearsome nickname.Has Souza pipped Bisping? Ronaldo Jacare Souza might have stolen Michael Bispings thunder Englands Michael Bisping must have been expecting the next crack at the middleweight championship having defeated the former champion, Anderson Silva, in February. But the performance of Ronaldo Jacare Souza has cast that into doubt.Souza dominated and eventually finished another former title-holder, Vitor Belfort, inside the first round while Bisping was taken the distance by Silva. In the UFCs official rankings at 185lbs, Bisping is No 4 behind both Souza and Belfort. To complicate matters, current champion Luke Rockhold already holds win over his two most obvious challengers. All eyes will turn to Rockholds next title defence against Chris Weidman next month, before Bisping learns his fate.Legends battle on Antonio Rogerio Nogueira won for the first time in three years Werdum and Belfort may have been comprehensively beaten by younger, fresher contenders, but, aged 38 and 39 respectively, they remain viable fighters. And they are not alone, with a host of Brazilian veterans refusing to quietly step out of the spotlight.Mauricio Shogun Rua, a 34-fight veteran and ex-champion, beat 26-year-old up-and-comer Corey Anderson. Demian Maia, at 38, has scarcely looked better than his submission win over Matt Brown.
