INDIANAPOLIS -- The Colts have agreed to a new contract with defensive end Fili Moala -- less than 24 hours before he was set to hit free agency. Earlier Monday, Indy re-signed linebacker Justin Hickman and promoted quality control assistant Brad White to assistant linebackers coach. Moala was the Colts second-round pick in 2009 and matched a career high with 26 tackles last season. He also had 1 1/2 sacks and recovered one fumble. Hickman was an exclusive rights free agent and could not be signed by another team. Indy signed Hickman out of the Canadian Football League in 2012. He had 14 tackles in 12 games that season before missing all of 2013 after going on injured reserve during training camp.
