The Pittsburgh Pirates announced the dismissal of third-base coach Rick Sofield and reassignment of first-base coach Nick Leyva to senior advisor to baseball operations on Saturday.Sofield spent four seasons as a member of the teams major league coaching staff, including serving as third-base coach the last two years.
